The wonderful post wedding portrait session of Catherine & Cedric.Son who traveled over from Korea to have their Prague session
When Cedric.Son contacted me about this very special post wedding portrait session in Prague I had a feeling it was going to be quite stunning. As they were not familiar with the city he simply stated that we only need to do one thing: make them look amazing. So an itinerary was suggested taking in the most beautiful locations in Prague and then we discussed the possibility of splitting up their sessions in two parts: a sunrise session and then a break for lunch and then a late afternoon / sunset session. They responded with a very enthusiastic yes with one request: if we could also capture part of Catherine's makeup & hair session as well as photograph the details (shoes, rings and etc). For some reason their photographer back in Korea did not capture these very important wedding details and they were hoping to have an incredible book make of their sessions in Europe as well as their wedding day back home.
On the day of their session our wonderful hair & makeup artist Eliska had beautifully prepped them and so we met them on the world famous Charles Bridge for a sunrise session as the gas lamps still glowed. It was one of those truly special sunrises that we photographers dream of, the sky began to flare deep pinks, purples and blues. With our lighting crew (Kari, Cary & Zu) quickly going to work we created a truly mesmerizing series of portraits against the morning sky. The only way one can truly capture images like this is with a lighting crew as our colleagues how are 'natural light photographers' simply cannot create these kinds of images. After a few more moments the bridge literally looked like a movie set with many photographers from around the world, brides & grooms and assistants running around capturing the incredible sunrise as Prague Castle glowed pink from the morning sun.
We quickly headed off to the Old Town Square for more amazing portraits and the sunlight did not disappoint. When I work with older couples the idea is to create a truly modern and fashion oriented session with a hand full of the traditional portraits thrown in. As I do not put a limit on the amount of images I create it is always up to the couples to decide which images they wish to have as it is important to always rise above their expectations. When we met up for the afternoon part of our session Catherine had asked for a more traditional portrait of her and who am I to say no to such a beautiful lady. The series of portraits we created in her hotel room are clearly some of their favorites as well as mine. Timeless, elegant and truly beautiful bridal portraits that would not be out of place in any bridal magazine or as a large canvass in ones living room.
To say that we had a truly beautiful post wedding portrait session is clearly an understatement when reviewing these images, but the one thing I enjoy about their session, how much fun and the incredibly variety of imagery - stunning imagery that was created on that beautiful summer day in Prague. To Catherine & Cedric.Son, I am very much looking forward to meeting you two again and in Seoul. All the best from our team.
