Prague pre wedding / Jay & Ambrose / portrait session

One of my favorite and very cool couples from last year – the lovely Jay & Ambrose.

Jay & Ambrose traveled over from Hong Kong to have their pre-wedding portrait session in Prague on a very special day: May 1st. This is usually a day where the city is filled with protests, marches and counter protests. So not wanting to be a part of that we headed to the Holešovice theme park that has been a local attraction for many years.

It is always fun capturing people not being concerned with being photographed – and you cant go wrong with the many rides, the cotton candy and of course my favorite: the bumper cars.

Holešovice was the site of the 1891 World’s Fair that was opened by Archduke Karl Ludwig when this land was originally a part of the Austria-Hungarian empire. Though many of these buildings that were created for it are in poor shape it is still a wonderful location to visit and experience the grandeur of its past.

For many Prague lovers, Petrin Hill is the location for an annual rite: a kiss underneath its Cherry Blossom Trees. Funny enough we were discussing this exact tradition when I spied Antonin Kratchovil. For those who know photography Antonin is one of the worlds greatest photojournalist and so seeing him again (he was actually a judge at Czech Press Photo when I was awarded a 1^st Place for my News reporting)and photographing him participating in this Prague rite was a laugh. Not to be left out Jay & Ambrose stood under the very same tree and also participated in this wonderful ritual that many of us vow never to miss.

Later and after an outfit change, we jumped aboard David Cerny’s Baby’s for a quick snap as well as took in some other out of the way locations that make this city so special.

For many couples there is nothing more romantic than standing atop the world famous Charles Bridge and watching the sun set slowly behind Prague Castle – it is truly unforgettable.

To Jay & Ambrose, it was wonderful meeting the two of you as well as getting to know you a bit better. And the next time you two are here the round of Scotch is on me. BTW thanks for the brilliant book – he is one of my favorite authors!

Jess & James – Clementinum

Jess and James, a charming couple from New Zealand, celebrated their dream wedding in Prague at the stunning Baroque Mirror Chapel within the historic Clementinum. After exchanging vows, they strolled through the picturesque streets of Prague, exploring hidden gardens and iconic spots, despite some rain. Their romantic portraits atop the Charles Bridge, with dramatic lightning illuminating the sky, perfectly captured the magic of the day. The couple’s warm and fun personalities shone throughout, creating an unforgettable experience for all involved. Congratulations, Jess and James!

Paris pre wedding / N & K / Château de Rambouillet / Château d’Esclimont portraits

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs Nanashima who traveled over from Japan to have their dream Pre-Wedding Portrait Session in Paris with yours truly. Their photo session is being featured in French Wedding Style and I am very pleased to showcase their session here.

Though the rain was a bit of a problem (and the Louvre being completely closed was a bit shocking) I am quite pleased to hear that you and your families were blown away by the results. Helen & CY’s Winter Pre-Wedding Adventures In Prague & Cesky Krumlov

Helen and her fiancé CY, from Hong Kong, chose Prague and Cesky Krumlov for their stunning winter wedding portrait session amid snow-covered landscapes. Despite the cold, they aimed for a “wow” factor before their upcoming wedding. The images were ready in three weeks for their spectacular wedding at the Hotel Intercontinental, where the photographer was honored to be a guest. Celebrating with such generous and warm-hearted individuals made the experience unforgettable. Wishing Helen and CY much love and success in their married life! Prague Clementinum wedding / Chateau Dobris / Alchymist / Maria & Nikolai wedding

Luxury wedding in Prague at the Clementinum and celebrations at Chateau Dobris and the Alchemyst!

Congratulations to our latest couple Maria & Nikolai who hat an incredible two day luxury wedding here in Prague with one of the most incredible venues to marry in: the Clementinum. This is not only a world renown historical site, but also formerly the home of the Czech National Library and some of it’s collections are not only priceless but an incredible backdrop for a portrait session.

Their choice of the sumptuous Baroque chapel is a rarity here for weddings as it is very exclusive. The chapel is not far from the Charles Bridge so having a wedding ceremony here in tranquil surroundings add up for a fabulous place for wedding photos. Later after we explored the narrow windings streets, the beautiful riverside, the Charles Bridge and of course some of the sites of this stunning city we headed to the Alchymist Grand Hotel which is in a magnificent Baroque house “Dům u Ježíška”, dating from the 16th century. The Alchymist is where luxury meets old world charm in a fusion that is all of its own. So having a private dinner with a private show of ballerinas, opera stars and wonderful poetry was a fitting ending to an incredible day.

But not to be outdone, day two took place at the Chateau Dobris outside of Prague. The entire castle grounds was reserved for the evenings festivities complete with performers from the Cirque du Soleil as well as pop stars, ballet dancers, fire walkers and of course capped off with an incredible fireworks show that went on and on. A truly incredible wedding experience for everyone who was lucky enough to participate.

But no more talking, lets look at what can only be described as one of the most beautiful weddings and a truly fabulous, wonderful and nice couple who really went all out for their intimate family & friends for a true luxury destination wedding in Prague. Enjoy!

Prague wedding elopement / prague wedding photography / Libby & Scott

Sometimes the best approach is to simply leave home, to travel afar, visit places you have not seen, and to tie the knot with the person of your dreams in a simple yet beautiful way. No fanfare, no big productions, no stress, just two people, in a small and very old & historic church (St. Phillips and James church) overlooking a beautiful, Bohemian valley in the heart of Europe.

Scott & Libby who traveled from Canada were rewarded with a truly spectacular fall day – picture perfect for a wedding.

Honestly, if I was to marry I would do it like this.

I must admit, when you have two fun people (and they had a large entourage with them too – hello everyone) and a wonderful, and simply beautiful summer day in Prague – magic truly happens. It was no exception with Silver & Ken who had one of my favorite pre-wedding portrait sessions from last year.

In fact, this was one of those days where choosing to have part of your session in the evening really paid off – nothing more sexy than beautiful photos at nite overlooking the city.
