A Winter Destination Wedding At The Historic Troja Chateau

A beautiful destination wedding at the Troja Chateau featuring the lovely Helen and her husband Cesar who traveled over from Lebanon to have their dream wedding in Prague. Beautiful, natural-styled wedding photography captured not only at the Troja Chateau but at many of Prague’s iconic locations.

Not only were these two an absolute joy to capture on their visually stunning and happy wedding day but their close family & friends who joined them made it all come together. It was truly unforgettable.

And the beautiful bride left me this wonderful review:

Kurt Vinion was the best decision I made during the entire wedding planning process.. You are simply FANTASTIC!! came up with great-looking unique photos ? thank you for capturing our big day and making it look so effortless, your dedication and precision to work is what matters! I am overwhelmed with the outcome and every single picture is fabulous! Kurt & the team are thorough professionals and the quality of their work was incredible. Undoubtedly, they have created the most treasured memory of our life. A picture conveys more than 1000 words and I’ll let their pictures tell the rest. I wish you all the very best to reach more heights and come out with flying colors establishing in more cities and countries !!

P&H (Hong Kong) Sunrise & Sunset Photo Session in Prague

Peggy & Han traveled over from Hong Kong to Prague for their gorgeous Sunrise & Sunset photo session. With three outfits (red, white and blue), our kick ass crew and a fun couple we visited many locations and simply had a great time!

Truth be told, the weather was frustrating as it was an unusually cold morning when we started. But when you have two fun people who traveled from half way around the world for a kick ass portrait session, a bit of rain is not going to stop them –  especially since our hair & makeup crew ensured that they looked flawless. No bad hair or messy makeup allowed here.

Prague Castle provided the solitude with the empty gas lit lamps reflecting in the wet streets creating a very ‘Old Europe’ turn of the century feel.

As the first sunlight started to break free we walked down to the very busy Charles Bridge (must have been about 10 other couples having their pre wedding sessions captured) to await the sunrise that was – well, a complete bumer. In fact, it was simply grey, boring and well – uneventful. This is a situation where having a light crew helped as we were able to create many looks and natural styled as well as a few posed looks. Of course our team had to do some serous retouching to remove the many many people but that is ok when you have a couple who demands the very best.

Afterwards we decided to beat the queue and headed to the Astronomical Clock where we worked our magic before the skies decided it was time for more rain. Peggy & Han who are so chilled took it in stride and even whipped out one of their Hong Kong teddy bears who quickly decided it was time to go back in the warm & dry bag. A few moments later we were having a laugh over cappuccinos at a warm cafe  â€“ the one that let us in as it was still quite early.

I have to say that I really enjoyed working with Peggy & Han; besides being extremely chilled, laid back and not stressed about the weather we simply had a great time creating these beautiful images. As you can see, they love being the center of attention and especially having a more ‘posed look’ and that is fine by us as every couple is unique.   Though they ended up with around 500 beautiful photos in their collection – we are showcasing around 60 of their chosen favorites here. And yes, the peacocks very much enjoyed photo bombing their pictures.

an engagement session in Prague with A&P (USA)

Introducing our very cute & fun couple Andrey & Phillip who live in sunny Los Angeles. They are good friends with a couple whose engagement portrait session we captured a few years back at Prague Castle. As Andrey & Phillip were going to be in Prague for a few days they contacted us and inquired if we could create a session for them. Unlike our usual portrait sessions where we work with a crew of assistants, hair & makeup and at times a full video crew,  they wanted a more toned down, simplistic approach: just the two of them and myself. I must admit, I very much enjoy these very simple ‘natural light sessions’ as couples are far more relaxed when they feel that no one is watching them or fussing about with their hair & makeup all the time.  Plus the great thing about Andrey & Phillip, they know how to have a great time in front of the camera.

What follows is a wonderful morning of two people in love exploring the sites of a beautiful city.

I am often asked: do I ever tire of photographing the same locations in Prague? The truth is, it is not about the locations as it is about sharing & capturing couples who are experiencing this city for the first time. The bonus: capturing those beautiful, intimate moments shared between. That is what I enjoy best.

To Andrey & Phillip I hope that when you view these images (hanging on your walls, or presented in a beautiful designer book) you relive that special time here in Prague.
