Our latest couple Rebecca and Frank hail from Shanghai, decided to have a photo session in Prague after traveling around Europe. Unbeknownst to Rebecca, Frank also had a surprise engagement ring – and what followed was a wedding proposal that was live streamed to the world.
Rebecca & Frank also had a bit of a dilemma, they waited to nearly the last minute (they are very busy & successful people) and not only did they wish to have a European pre wedding but they also needed to have the entire session edited, retouched and files sent within two weeks. Of course when money is not an issue anything is possible. The other issue, Frank wanted to share his surprise marriage proposal to friends and family from around the world. What follows is a wonderful autumn morning (minus the sun…sometimes we have bad luck with the weather here), two outfits (that red dress is amazing) and a surprise that caught Rebecca totally off guard.
Photo shoot locations: Prague Castle, St. Vitus, Castle Steps, Charles Bridge, Nove Mesto, Old Town Square, Astronomical Clock, Mala Strana, Riverside and the finale at the Charles Bridge.
Special thanks to the team for doing a kick ass job (Linda, Cary & Dorota).

Pre wedding photo Prague. The wonderful Daisy & Louis traveled over from Hong Kong to the Czech Republic to have their very special photo session in Prague. They also had a very small and sweet civil ceremony at The Old Town Hall in Prague where the two exchanged vows
As the summer months can get very hot and quite busy with tourists, we decided to take things easy and have a sunrise session starting at the incredible Prague Castle before they were to marry. The beautifully lit Prague Castle in the early am provided a quiet, magical scene that was straight out of a movie set – we simply had the castle gates and the gas lit streets all to ourselves.
As with many couples we work with from Asia, Daisy & Louis wanted a more natural and spontaneous look and of course a few fashion oriented portraits thrown in as well. After traveling to the usual locations (the Charles Bridge, Riverside and of course around Kampa) for their pre wedding portraits we headed to the always busy Old Town Square where they were quickly ushered upstairs and exchanged their vows. A short carriage ride afterwards provided the ending to the morning and then a break in the afternoon before our hair & makeup team readied them for a very short and magical sunset pre wedding portrait session.
I am very pleased at how this session turned out and Daisy & Louis were also quite pleased even though they had only seen a few images on the back of the camera. A week later they contacted me again and asked if we can do a second session with them in Venice / Venezia – of course I said yes.
But before we showcase their beautiful Venice session, let’s take a look at one of the most beautiful pre wedding portrait sessions captured by yours truly in Prague.

It wasn’t exactly ‘love at first site’ between Haya & Igor. When they first met at work they did not care for each other. Perhaps it was because they were both already romantically in a relationship with others? But fate has a way of interceding and a few months later – after getting to know each other – they both found themselves living as singles again and in need of a new place to call home. As apartments are very expensive in Israel, it seemed like a good idea to combine their incomes and find a suitable place to call home. And a friendship quietly blossomed into a relationship. As Haya recounts, they never really had a ‘real date’.
After their courtship they announced that they were to marry. But where? They had considered Cyprus but Prague with its beautiful architecture, Old Town Square and castle dominating the skyline won their hearts. Originally it was to be only 3 days in Prague for a quick wedding between the two of them, but with their family & friends wishing to join them the decision was made to stay a week so that a proper bachelor/bachelorette party could be arranged. For Haya & Igor having their close family & friends join them in Prague was truly special and one they both truly appreciate.
One of the most lasting impressions I have of these two (besides the fact that everyone had a wonderful time and these two are a real joy to be around was) – Haya’s absolutely beautiful and very elegant wedding dress. The design came about from an idea that Haya had sketched out with her sister, and as her friend and sister could sow, they took it upon themselves to create this very beautiful, elegant and stylish dress. Knowing that this dress was designed and created by them makes it that much more special.
Presented here is a collection of images captured from their very special wedding day here in Prague.
I love this session. I really do. Rose & Alpha are from the great state of New Jersey in the USA who were looking for a mixture of styles on their pre-wedding portrait session in Prague. Not too staged, not too romantic, never boring, just a simple, fun, spontaneous and yes, a mixture of incredible locations for their pre-wedding. They danced, they kissed, they laughed ( a lot) and they shared truly wonderful, unforgettable moments. Everything was perfect (well, except for that bit of rain, and ok, the cold morning air before the sun was supposed to come up, and well ok, the sunrise was a bit of a let down – in fact, it was gray for awhile – too long). Ok, so yeah, the weather was truly a drag, but these two are in love and a little rain is not going to ruin their session and from having a kick ass time.
As you can imagine every photographer in the world is traveling to the Prague and trying to capture this city in its most amazing light and well, sometimes it simply does not happen, but with a bit of flair and a kick ass lighting crew any situation can be made better and every couple will look amazing – even if the weather is not. Our crew came through, the light came through in the evening (sunrise & sunset sessions are the way to go) and Rose & Alpha were floored, happy, ecstatic and they will have a crazy fun slide show that incorporates their wonderful time in this incredible city.
Here is a small collection of the many, many images captured, lovingly enhanced, colored, retouched. Images that will be shared and cherished with family & friends. Thanks to the fantastic, fun and very cool Rose & Alpha for allowing us to share this beautiful, fun & fantastic pre-wedding session.

the very elegant and classy Catherine & Cedric.Son (South Korea) chose Prague for their very modern styled pre wedding portrait session
a morning kiss as the sun rises over the Old Town Square
To be honest, this is such an incredible portrait session and in so many ways: the splendor of Prague during the most beautiful parts of the day, a reportage / posed / natural style portrait session taking in many locations and of course the lovely Catherine and her husband Cedric.Son who are great fun to be around.
As they are both very busy and successful business people, they really did not have the time to travel to Europe and have a proper ‘pre wedding portrait session’ prior to their wedding. So on a wonderful day last autumn we met them at the Charles Bridge for their sunrise & sunset post wedding portrait session in Prague.
The following is a small sample of the collection of images we created on that unforgettable day. A big thank you to Eliska for providing the beautiful hair & makeup, the lighting and production crew: Cary, Kari (our fabulous intern from Seattle) and Zu.

Introducing our latest couple T+P who traveled over from Hong Kong to have their beautiful summertime pre wedding portrait session here in Prague with yours truly.
Like many couples from Hong Kong, T+P wanted a more laid back session without the many tourists. The wonderful thing about their pre wedding session, less staged and more natural images. Which means a very leisurely pace amongst some of my favorite locations here in Prague.
As many of our Hong Kong couples are looking for a more earthy, organic feel – Prague with its many gardens makes for a relaxed atmosphere overlooking the stunning city down below. Of course you can still have the many iconic shots: the Astronomical Clock, the Charles Bridge, but the truly stunning architectural shots that define this city is what makes it so truly special.
So with our itinerary worked out well in advance, we simply wandered on a warm summer day capturing two people in love exploring one of the most beautiful cities in Europe.
The following is a small sampling of beautiful pre wedding portraits from T+P session here in Prague.
To T+P, we wish you both much love, happiness and success.

A fun couple who chose many of Prague’s favorite locations for their pre wedding portrait session. Though the weather was quite grey & gloomy and threatening to rain during our session, that did not stop Dudu & Leo (and their two friends) from having a great time exploring many of the popular locations for pre wedding portraits.
Though our session was supposedly a daylight session only, we ran a bit behind due to a hair & makeup change and ended up catching some truly beautiful portraits of them at the Old Town Square after sunset. My personal favorites in addition to the stunning vintage inspired portraits of them at the riverside: the horse and buggy that was parked behind them that added an old world ambience to their portraits. To be honest, there is nothing special like having beautiful memories captured at the Old Town Square on a quiet summer evening.
To Dudu & Leo, congratulations! I wish you both much love, happiness and prosperity in your new lives together as husband and wife.
PS: and from our happy couple:
Dear Kurt, It’s a wonderful experience to have you as our photographer. I think if any friends of mine would ask me for pre-wedding/ wedding photographer in Prague, I would have no hesitation to introduce you to them.
