Artistic Honeymoon I Post Wedding Photos from Venice, Italy

I truly love those high contrast scenes such as this portrait of the bride & groom backlit by the early morning sunlight in Piazza San Marco with St Mark's Basilica. Though the sunlight is already quite high and very strong, the additional light illuminating the brides veil as they walk hand in hand as the pigeons flutter about add drama to an otherwise simple image.

I realize that many photographers would have used flash to brighten their faces. But this effect would have ruined a painterly and artistic portrait of a fleeting real moment. As a photographer I believe that images such as this will always stand the test of time as a piece of artwork. One worthy of their living room walls.
