The dynamic and joyful Takeshi and Akemi journeyed from Japan to celebrate their intimate and elegant elopement at Lake Bled, Slovenia.
Vila Bled, with its rich history, served as the picturesque backdrop for their wedding preparations, overlooking the pristine, mirror-like Alpine lake under a vivid blue sky. These two, with their flair for style, turned heads with their wedding attire throughout the day.
Once ready, we descended the historic steps from Vila Bled, where the summer sun cast a warm glow around our fashionable couple, creating some breathtaking images.
Our first stop was Bled Castle, perched high above the lake with its panoramic views. Here, they embraced Slovenian traditions, having their names inscribed in an old-fashioned manner and enjoying a specially crafted bottle of wine. This cultural fusion was a highlight for them, enthusiastically showcasing their Slovenian keepsakes.
The ceremony took place in the church, followed by a visit to the town hall to legalize their union. The heat was intense, but we took our time, ensuring comfort amidst the sweltering conditions. The photos captured the joy rather than the heat - moments like jumping in front of the Heart of Bled or posing with a horse-drawn carriage.
What made this wedding truly special was not just the iconic locations - the 12th-century Bled Castle or the 99 steps leading to the Assumption of Mary Church - but also the magical golden light that enveloped them as they departed the historic island on a traditional Pletna boat. Akemi even took a turn at rowing, providing a few moments of solitude on the lake, and an unforgettable photo.
Takeshi and Akemi, with their love for life and each other, were natural subjects, their stylish outfits drawing eyes wherever we ventured that glorious summer day in Slovenia. As a photographer, I cherish working with couples like T&A, whose vibrant spirits are so palpable.
