There was no doubt that Jen & Dennis who traveled over from New York City were going to have a stunning session as they looked very much like models in their very stylish wedding attire. Plus, woman who wear the birdcage veil look quite sexy and Jen easily pulled this look off.

As we simply did not wish to be surrounded by the throngs of camera wielding tourists in the centre, the peaceful oasis of Prague Castle and its sumptuous gardens were our starting points. Jen & Dennis very much enjoyed the castle gardens and especially the breath taking views, in fact we probably could have stayed there all day long, but we had many places to visit on our tour.

An old tilt shift lens was used to capture the dreamy look of our super stylish & sexy couple at St. Vitus Cathedral and especially those beautiful portraits of them sitting overlooking Mala Strana as the last rays of light ebbed.

Later a quick walk down to Mala Strana for a very stylish outfit change was in order before heading out once more to capture Jen & Dennis enjoying other locations such as the Charles Bridge and of course our final destination – the Astronomical clock. It was in essence a truly beautiful day and evening. A wish or two was even made atop the Charles Bridge in a very historic spot and unlike the many others they knew how to make that wish come true 😉

What I really enjoyed about Jen & Denis besides their warm and fun personalities and seeing their selection of chosen images: images that are more natural, spontaneous and real. And the second best part? The feedback:

Prague pre wedding / Yannes & Roy portrait session

We love working with super friendly people who are in love, getting married and who fit perfectly with our style and vision. Our new friends Yannes & Roy traveled over from Hong Kong to have a beautiful pre wedding portrait session with us. They were wonderful, brilliant, fun and easy going – just like us. Their only real concern, making sure there were not too many people in their images and they wanted a more natural look – which we also very much enjoy.

After meeting up, a course was outlined that took in the more green and quieter parts of the city such as the Castle Gardens, The Bellview palace, the Orangerie, a wonderful boat ride along the Vltava and of course the usual sites of Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. As you can see it was a very laid back and fun session. Later after a quick hair & makeup change provided by Jitka Novotna it was time to head out once again to capture Yannes & Roy enjoying the Charles Bridge (where they made a wish that we believe will come true) and then their last stop at the stunning Astronomical Clock for a romantic kiss underneath.

A picture perfect day for a terrific couple. Thank you again Yannes & Roy and we hope to see you in Hong Kong very soon!

Prague pre wedding / Jay & Ambrose / portrait session

One of my favorite and very cool couples from last year – the lovely Jay & Ambrose.

Jay & Ambrose traveled over from Hong Kong to have their pre-wedding portrait session in Prague on a very special day: May 1st. This is usually a day where the city is filled with protests, marches and counter protests. So not wanting to be a part of that we headed to the Holešovice theme park that has been a local attraction for many years.

It is always fun capturing people not being concerned with being photographed – and you cant go wrong with the many rides, the cotton candy and of course my favorite: the bumper cars.

Holešovice was the site of the 1891 World’s Fair that was opened by Archduke Karl Ludwig when this land was originally a part of the Austria-Hungarian empire. Though many of these buildings that were created for it are in poor shape it is still a wonderful location to visit and experience the grandeur of its past.

For many Prague lovers, Petrin Hill is the location for an annual rite: a kiss underneath its Cherry Blossom Trees. Funny enough we were discussing this exact tradition when I spied Antonin Kratchovil. For those who know photography Antonin is one of the worlds greatest photojournalist and so seeing him again (he was actually a judge at Czech Press Photo when I was awarded a 1^st Place for my News reporting)and photographing him participating in this Prague rite was a laugh. Not to be left out Jay & Ambrose stood under the very same tree and also participated in this wonderful ritual that many of us vow never to miss.

Later and after an outfit change, we jumped aboard David Cerny’s Baby’s for a quick snap as well as took in some other out of the way locations that make this city so special.

For many couples there is nothing more romantic than standing atop the world famous Charles Bridge and watching the sun set slowly behind Prague Castle – it is truly unforgettable.

To Jay & Ambrose, it was wonderful meeting the two of you as well as getting to know you a bit better. And the next time you two are here the round of Scotch is on me. BTW thanks for the brilliant book – he is one of my favorite authors!

Helen & CY’s Winter Pre-Wedding Adventures In Prague & Cesky Krumlov

Helen and her fiancé CY, from Hong Kong, chose Prague and Cesky Krumlov for their stunning winter wedding portrait session amid snow-covered landscapes. Despite the cold, they aimed for a “wow” factor before their upcoming wedding. The images were ready in three weeks for their spectacular wedding at the Hotel Intercontinental, where the photographer was honored to be a guest. Prague Pre-Wedding Photographers – Janice & Joel’s beatiful Portraits around Prague!

When Joel and Janice contacted me about a romantic pre-wedding & engagement portrait session in Prague, they like many others wanted something small and more importantly romantic. So, we decided to pursue a night session at some of my favorite locations in Prague. Our focus was not only capturing the stunning city but more importantly these two young lovers who are traveling around Europe and having those special moments captured for eternity. Or at least we hope for many generations to come. As a former professor once told me, it is not how it looks that truly matters, it is more important to show us what it feels like to be there at that moment.

So without further adieu, here is a wonderful couple, on a wonderful night in one of the most romantic cities in the world and a place that this American loves to call – home (Praha)!

Engagement portraits Prague: Akiko & Jakub Engagement portrait session

{Prague wedding photographer} Akiko & Jakub’s Evening E-Session in Prague!

Congratulations to Akiko & Jakub who recently married here in Prague!

But before we post their stunning wedding pictures, we will present you a very quick E-Session we did with them the night before their big wedding day.

As Jakub is from the Czech Republic why not have a proper E-Session with his wonderful bride to be? So with a quick visit to the world famous Astronomical Clock we then headed for a quick tour of our favorite spots in Prague as the summer sun started it’s descent.

The wonderful thing about Akiko & Jakub is how much fun they have when they are together. So capturing them as they enjoyed the beautiful surroundings of Prague was a lot of fun as we made our way around the popular spots such as Charles Bridge or along the riverside. Our last stop was of course at the Four Seasons where we were able to create one last set of pictures from their romantic evening in Prague before their big day.

a friend of mine exclaimed ‘dude, that is seriously the most beautiful pre wedding portrait session I have ever seen!

Anyway, friends are like that…

Introducing one of the coolest couples (yes they really are that cool!) I have ever had the privilege of working with in creating a truly stunning set of beautiful photographs of their time here in Prague: Winnie & Chiu.

I am still a bit surprised by this work, I mean, couples travel all the way over from Hong Kong to hire me to be their pre wedding photographer (apologies to Ken Lam who has been lurking in my playground ; D )! Seriously, how can you not have fun doing a ‘job’ like this… And I am having a hell of a lot of fun especially when I have wonderful people like Winnie & Chiu to work with and yes. this is a creative process…
To Winnie & Chiu, many, many thanks (for everything)! I really appreciate you going out of your way to change your schedule for me. I wish both of you a long life of love, happiness and success in your new live’s together as husband and wife! And hopefully one day in Hong Kong we shall meet again.
