We love working with super friendly people who are in love, getting married and who fit perfectly with our style and vision. Our new friends Yannes & Roy traveled over from Hong Kong to have a beautiful pre wedding portrait session with us. They were wonderful, brilliant, fun and easy going – just like us. Their only real concern, making sure there were not too many people in their images and they wanted a more natural look – which we also very much enjoy.

After meeting up, a course was outlined that took in the more green and quieter parts of the city such as the Castle Gardens, The Bellview palace, the Orangerie, a wonderful boat ride along the Vltava and of course the usual sites of Prague Castle and the Charles Bridge. As you can see it was a very laid back and fun session. Later after a quick hair & makeup change provided by Jitka Novotna it was time to head out once again to capture Yannes & Roy enjoying the Charles Bridge (where they made a wish that we believe will come true) and then their last stop at the stunning Astronomical Clock for a romantic kiss underneath.

A picture perfect day for a terrific couple. Thank you again Yannes & Roy and we hope to see you in Hong Kong very soon!

Prague pre wedding / Jay & Ambrose / portrait session

One of my favorite and very cool couples from last year – the lovely Jay & Ambrose.

Jay & Ambrose traveled over from Hong Kong to have their pre-wedding portrait session in Prague on a very special day: May 1st. This is usually a day where the city is filled with protests, marches and counter protests. So not wanting to be a part of that we headed to the Holešovice theme park that has been a local attraction for many years.

It is always fun capturing people not being concerned with being photographed – and you cant go wrong with the many rides, the cotton candy and of course my favorite: the bumper cars.

Holešovice was the site of the 1891 World’s Fair that was opened by Archduke Karl Ludwig when this land was originally a part of the Austria-Hungarian empire. Though many of these buildings that were created for it are in poor shape it is still a wonderful location to visit and experience the grandeur of its past.

For many Prague lovers, Petrin Hill is the location for an annual rite: a kiss underneath its Cherry Blossom Trees. Funny enough we were discussing this exact tradition when I spied Antonin Kratchovil. For those who know photography Antonin is one of the worlds greatest photojournalist and so seeing him again (he was actually a judge at Czech Press Photo when I was awarded a 1^st Place for my News reporting)and photographing him participating in this Prague rite was a laugh. Not to be left out Jay & Ambrose stood under the very same tree and also participated in this wonderful ritual that many of us vow never to miss.

Later and after an outfit change, we jumped aboard David Cerny’s Baby’s for a quick snap as well as took in some other out of the way locations that make this city so special.

For many couples there is nothing more romantic than standing atop the world famous Charles Bridge and watching the sun set slowly behind Prague Castle – it is truly unforgettable.

To Jay & Ambrose, it was wonderful meeting the two of you as well as getting to know you a bit better. And the next time you two are here the round of Scotch is on me. BTW thanks for the brilliant book – he is one of my favorite authors!

Paris pre wedding / N & K / Château de Rambouillet / Château d’Esclimont portraits

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs Nanashima who traveled over from Japan to have their dream Pre-Wedding Portrait Session in Paris with yours truly. Their photo session is being featured in French Wedding Style and I am very pleased to showcase their session here.
And a big shout out to Monique Trulove for a wonderful resource showcasing the best in wedding & pre wedding photography in France and a big shout out to one of the best wedding coordinators I have ever worked with Rieko and her amazing crew who took care of us in Paris and who always surprises me with wonderful locations to work at – Merci!

To Mr. & Mrs Nanashima, you two are wonderful, fun, crazy, cool and very patient. It was fun showing you around and watching you taking in and enjoying the sites. Though the rain was a bit of a problem (and the Louvre being completely closed was a bit shocking) I am quite pleased to hear that you and your families were blown away by the results. I wish you both much love, happiness and prosperity in your new lives together in Japan.
