Wendy & Jack: Chasing The Golden Light In Prague Pre-Wedding

When planning your pre-wedding photoshoot in Prague, it’s essential to consider what style suits you best—posed and directed images, or a more natural and authentic feel that highlights your personalities. Timing also matters: a daytime, nighttime, or a combination of both can create diverse, breathtaking visuals. For one stylish couple from Taiwan, the goal was clear—they wanted everything, from iconic Prague locations without tourists to the incredible golden-hour light.

Starting pre-dawn on the iconic Charles Bridge, we embraced the magical golden hour and created a mix of fun, stylish portraits and natural moments. With some guidance to enhance their looks and outfits, we chased the early morning sun through beautiful spots like the Royal Garden, resulting in timeless, romantic images.

To Wendy and Jack—thank you for choosing us to capture your love story. We wish you both a future filled with happiness!

Wendy & Nick: Anniversary Session Atop The Charles Bridge

How does one celebrate 5-years of being married? Some people opt for a romantic dinner or maybe flowers. For Wendy & Nick it was simple – fly back to Prague and have a special anniversary session with their Prague wedding photographer.

It truly is hard to believe that it has been 8-years since I captured their beautiful Vrtba Garden wedding. The bonus to their gorgeous wedding was that we followed it up with an evening portrait session. The photos from that day have always brought a smile to my face as these two had such an amazing time. One of their wedding photos has even appeared on several other wedding photographers websites over the years. Yeah, we live in this kind of world where the ‘web designers’ keep ‘borrowing’ my images and of course, the photographer never knew that such a thing happened.

The image is presented below from their wonderful wedding…

When Wendy (who is very busy starting her own business) contacted me about their idea I was quite stoked and definitely on board. Though I did explain to them that unlike the past, many of the sessions I do in Prague actually take place quite early as the city is literally inundated with tourists and those kinds of images are very difficult to capture now. And just like that – it was settled.

What follows is a very special session with two wonderful people who I am happy to call my friends!

American photographer Kurt Vinion has been providing the very best in couple photography in Prague since 2008. Widely experienced and well known for his creative & artistic use of light he can create beautiful, intimate, and authentic images that will blow away your family & friends and will be enjoyed for a lifetime. Kurt does not just take a picture he captures beautiful moments that will be cherished.

A Prague marriage proposal: Jennifer & Frank / St. Vitus belltower portraits

Sometimes when it feels right, you just have to go with it. Frank planned a truly special & whirlwind European visit for his lovely girlfriend Jennifer. He also had a secret he was keeping from her, an engagement ring. The plan: fly to Paris, then catch a connecting flight to Prague where they were to be picked up by a chauffeur and quickly whisked straight to St. Vitus Cathedral – where a special tour was set up just in their honor. Talk about fast.

But sometimes things take an unexpected turn, flights can be delayed, traffic can be disrupted and the timeline simply too tight to pull off. But no worries, when it feels right it will work itself out in the end. Instead of having the cathedral tour, a different tour was organized at the famed St. Vitus bellower that was begun in 1396 and has overlooked the castle and the city down below ever since.

After all of that time traveling on the planes and rushing through was Jennifer really going to be up for walking up those 287 steps? After being dropped off at the front gate of the castle a visibly excited Jennifer and Frank was game, after all how often does one start a European vacation like this?

Though it was overcast and raining lightly that did not dampen their spirits as they took in the impressive views down below of one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  To think that 24 hours earlier they were in the states. And then – the moment arrived. It was quick, quite a surprise, very tender and very special. As a photographer I  really do hope these images capture that special time that Jennifer & Frank shared on that very special day in their lives here in Prague. Presented here are some of their favorite moments.

To Frank and Jennifer, it was an honor and a privilege,  I wish both of you much love, happiness and success in your new lives together. It would be great catching up with the two of you again.
