Vladimir and Ina met in Berlin in June 1998 and married three years later, in July 2001.
Vrtba Garden (Vrtbovská zahrada)
They returned to Prague for a vow renewal at Vrtba Garden, with their two daughters beside them.
There was no need to manufacture emotion. Twenty-five years of it was already in the room: in the frescoed hall where they exchanged their vows again, and in the garden where they explored.
A Quiet Moment Above the Garden
While their daughters explored the garden, Ina and Vladimir stayed on the upper terrace, looking over the rooftops toward the Charles Bridge.
From the garden they traveled up to Prague Castle.
St. Vitus Cathedral and Prague Castle
At St Vitus Cathedral, they paused beneath its historic entrance used for kings and queens and watched the crowds pass. Around them, the layers of Prague’s history felt especially close.
Behind St. Vitus, Ina twirled in her gown, surrounded by the warm flare of the setting sun. Later, she and Vladimir walked together toward the setting sun in front of the Archbishop’s Palace.
Photographer’s Insight: Why Vrtba Garden Is One of My Favourite Prague Locations for Couples Photography
Vrtba Garden is one of my favourite locations for couples photography. Set on the slope of Petřín Hill in Malá Strana, it feels secluded from the surrounding city while offering an extraordinary range of backdrops within a compact space. Its Baroque terraces, sculptures, clipped greenery, and views over Prague create variety without requiring a long walk between locations. Designed by František Maxmilián Kaňka around 1720, its terraced layout follows the garden’s sloping site.
For Ina and Vladimir’s anniversary portraits, that variety helped give the gallery a sense of progression. We could make intimate portraits in the garden’s quieter corners, bring the family together among the terraces, and use the historic details to give the photographs a strong sense of place.
The Sala Terrena, with its painted vaults and sculptural decoration, is one of the garden’s most distinctive architectural features. Higher terraces open onto views of Malá Strana rooftops and Prague Castle. These details give the location its character, but the focus of the photographs remains the people and the meaning of their celebration.
