Akemi & Takeshi — Stylish Japanese Elopement at Iconic Lake Bled
Akemi (あけみ) and Takeshi (たけし) brought their infectious energy and impeccable style all the way from Japan to create an intimate elopement that felt like a dream woven from Slovenian tradition and their own joyful spirit.
Their day began at historic Vila Bled, where mirror-calm lake views and vivid blue skies framed every preparation moment. Akemi’s vintage-inspired gown and birdcage veil met Takeshi’s modern blue suit and purple bow tie in perfect harmony.
From Vila Bled’s sunlit steps to the medieval terraces of 12th-century Bled Castle—where they embraced local customs with engraved keepsakes and fine wine—their laughter rang out against ancient stone.
The wedding ceremony at St. Martin’s Church was followed by pure celebration: jumping through the Heart of Bled, carriage rides, and playful moments that captured their vibrant connection.
But the true magic unfolded in golden hour on Lake Bled itself. After a quick makeup retouch and headpiece change for the bride; a traditional pletna boat carried them to the island church for bell-ringing wishes. Then back across glittering water as sunset painted everything gold. Akemi even took the oars, rowing her new husband through solitary moments of pure peace.
